Yet another reason to swing by Madison Square Park Spring Market (now till Friday 3rd June).
Jaume Plensa, born and based in Barcelona, is one of the world’s leading contemporary sculptors, and his 2011 commission for Madison Square Park constitutes his long-awaited New York City public art debut.
Echo, Plensa’s project for Madison Square Park, is a monument to everyday people in the form of a 44’ sculpture of the head and neck of a young girl (the nine year-old daughter of a restaurant proprietor near Plensa’s home in Barcelona). Plensa’s sculpture can be seen on the park’s central Oval Lawn. Its monumental size and vertical orientation reflect the architecture surrounding the park, while the visage of the sculptor’s subject exudes a welcoming tranquility perfectly suited to this cherished urban oasis.
Join us for one of New York City’s more intimate outdoor foodie experience this Friday May 6th till Friday June 3rd at the Madison Square Spring Market! Featuring a selection of your Madison Square Market favorites and new additions: Roasted Lamb, Shawarma, Falafel Beiruti, ilili’s unique Zaatar Manuche (Thyme Pizza), Pressed Pulled Chicken Sandwiches, House Pickled Persian Cucumbers, our delicious Garlic Sauce, and ilili Fries. We’ll also be serving Lebanon’s national beer, Almaza, and our Ginger Cucumber Green Lemonade!

It’s Zagat time again and we’re excited to see the fruits of this year’s culinary efforts set down on paper for the whole world to see.
We’d greatly appreciate your taking the time to participate in the survey. Competition amongst New York resturants is fierce (not surprising since we’re in the culinary capital of the world!), so every vote counts! It only takes a minute…
